Rally Results (May 2013)

Pirelli Peter Taylor took his DS3 to 7th Overall (6th in class). In the clubman events – On Saturday Darren Martin & Martin Steele retired after being sucked into a Kielder Ditch. On the Sunday Caroline Lodge navigated  Jimmy Hall to 4th Overall (1st in class). Darren Martin & Martin Steele retired again with a blown engine.

Manx National Peter Taylor went to do some set-up work ahead of the Jim Clark, he came away 13th Overall (3rd class) Dee Addison navigated Alistair Tough but it was a short event for them when a propshaft let go on stage 1.

Plains – Caroline Lodge navigated Dave Edwards to 75th Overall (11th in class) despite a gearbox problem.

Rally Results (March 2013)

Malcolm Wilson Rally saw James Coxon  navigate Mark Shaw to 47th OA (3rd in class) in the Talbot Sunbeam. Darren Martin & Martin Steele took there Subaru to 57th OA (11th in class), Mark Goodfellow took his Subaru to 76th O/A (15th in class)

Merrills Weeton Stages. A bad day for SMC members Barry & Michael Lindsay who debuted the 206 that had been entered for the Malcolm Wilson rally but hadn’t started that one. Here there day was short lived when a driveshaft snapped on the first stage. Richard Clark & James McWhir faired slightly better setting good times before a temp sensor failure reduced the turbo and retired when the engine didn’t want to play any more.

Rally Results (January 2013)

Christmas Stages saw Barry & Michael Lindsay finish 7th Overall and a class win. Geoffrey Harkness & Caroline Lodge were 45th Overall (10th in class).

Jack Frost Stages saw Barry & Michael Lindsay finish 8th Overall and 2nd in class. Geoffrey Harkness & Caroline Lodge retired with a ball joint failure.

 

Rally Results (November 2012)

Galloway Hills Rally – Darren Martin & Martin Steele finished 18th OA (12th Class)  .

Crail – David Hope & Fiona Gourlay were 15th OA (10th class) James McWhir navigated Michael Hunter to 30th OA (6th class)

Cheviot Barry & Michael Lindsay were 3rd OA (1st class) followed by Peter Taylor in 4th OA (1st class)

Roger Albert Clark – Caroline Lodge, despite a lack of power, finished 41st OA (1st in Class), Phil Jobson in the Open section finished 10th OA (4th class). David Coleman & Kyle Gass were 6th OA (1st class) in the Clubman Challenge. On the same section Darren Martin & Martin Steele retired with gearbox problems.

Rally Reports (October 2012)

Peter Taylor went to Weeton Camp for a test ahead of Mull. In extremely wet conditions which eventually saw the event cut short on safety grounds, Peter had already retired when leading with Diff / Driveshaft trouble. He then went to Mull and despite similar wet conditions also retired this time with Centre Diff problems.

Rally Results (September 2012)

Lindisfarne Rally: Peter Taylor narrowly missed out on the win by 4 seconds, finishing 2nd Overall (2nd in class) Barry & Michael Lindsay were 5th Overall (1st in class).

Pendragon: Peter Taylor took his 2nd win of the year, this time in the Focus WRC. Barry & Michael Lindsay were 5th Overall (1st in class) in the 106, David Hope & Fiona Gourlay made a welcome return after over a year layoff, finishing 12th Overall (8th in class) Barrie Thomson & Jerry Hettrick brought there 106 home in 15th Overall (4th in class) ahead of Geoffrey Harkness & Caroline Lodge in 18th (5th in class) Phil Jobson & Neil Thomlinson were 21st (6th in class) Chris Taylor & Jonny Brass retired after two stages.

Rally Isle of Man:  In the classic section Allan Cathers navigated David Mylecreest to 2nd Overall and 1st in class in the category 1 section, in the MGB.

Rally Results – August 2012

Tyneside Stages on Otterburn saw Barry & Michael Lindsay finish 8th Overall (2nd in class), Geoffrey Harkness & Caroline Lodge were 23rd Overall (4th in class).

On the Solway Coast James McWhir navigated Michael Hunter in the Lada Samara to 15th Overall (3rd in class).

Rally Results (July 2012)

The Scottish Rally, James McWhir was the only member to finish in 51st (7th in class) navigating Mike Hunter in the Lada Samara. Rory Young & Allan Cathers had a dramatic end on a jump / dip then a corner with a fire break. Darren Martin & Martin Steele retired with a slipping clutch.

The Greystoke Stages saw Darren Martin / Martin Steele with new clutch finish 22nd OA (10th in class) while the repaired Skoda of David Coleman & Kyle Gass finished 43rd (6th in class). Clive Alcock’s Sunbeam retired with a fire in the carburettor.

Rally Results (June 2012)

Jim Clark International Peter Taylor was showing his tarmac pace in the Clio. Up as high as 3rd Overall on Saturday before crashing out on Sunday. Jim Clark National Barrie Thomson & Jerry Hettrick finished 37th (5th in class)

Phil Jobson & Caroline Lodge retired with Gearbox problems. Rory Young & Allan Cathers retired with electrical problems. On the Reivers Rory & Allan retired with Mechanical problems.

At the Severn Valley Jonathan & Caroline Lodge were both Navigating in the SAAB team. Caroline getting 7th OA (1st in class) with Steve Higgins. While Jonathan was 17th OA (9th in class). Turnbull Trophy at Albermarle, Peter Taylor took outright honours by winning in his Clio. Given the very tricky conditions and very wet at times, the win was deserved. Geoffrey Harkness & Caroline Lodgi took their second class win in a row & 21st Overall. Richard & Simon Clark were just behind in 22nd Overall in a Subaru. Barry & Michael Lindsay retired with a broken driveshaft.

Rally Results (April & May 2012)

On the Pirelli Peter Taylor finished an impressive 5th O/A (4th in class) then went to the Manx National and finished 9th O/A (1st in class & 1st FWD) in the Clio. Clive Alcock did the Tour Of Cumbria part of the Pirelli finishing 8th O/A (1st in class) in the Sunbeam. At Ingliston Geoffrey Harkness / Caroline Lodge were 16th O/A (1st in class), Barry & Michael Lindsay were  23rd O/A (3rd  in class). Richard Clark & James McWhir were 36th O/A (9th in class)

At Hamsterley Darren Martin & Martin Steele were 24th O/A (3rd in Class) in the Subaru.
